THE STORY
Heythrop Park Estate – a wide-sweeping 440-acre country estate – is home to an early, 18th-century honey-hued house. Built around 1706, it weathered a major fire in 1831 before being lovingly restored and expanded in the late 19th century by architect Alfred Waterhouse (most notable for his Gothic revival style of London’s Natural History Museum). By 1922, much of the wider estate had been sold off, but the house and its beautiful grounds were acquired by the Provincial of the English Jesuits, later becoming a college. In 1969, it was purchased by the National Westminster Bank who carried out a number of additions.
Today, the estate is a hidden away world of its own, with a championship-level golf course and an adults-only golf, spa, and country club. The residences of The Nine will offer something for everybody with each property undergoing an intentional renovation to mix the best of old-world charm with contemporary design. From an early 20th-century Lodge House to 1970s style executive homes, and charming country cottages there’s a real celebration of architectural style. Plus, with access to the golf course and spa, living at Heythrop Park isn’t just about the home but it’s about the lifestyle too.
